Lawrence Wilson Art Gallery

Always an interesting and varied range of exhibitions and installations in this art gallery. Their current exhibition from the Berndt Museum is excellent.

The Lawrence Wilson Art Gallery is in beautiful surroundings. You can approach it via the underpass below Stirling Highway. I wonder how many pedestrians or cyclists pass that way each day without noticing the beauty. The gardeners of the University of WA deserve credit for making the northern end of the underpass so attractive.You can also approach through the sunken gardens. They are even more attractive, and must keep the gardeners very busy.From the East side of the gallery you can look east and see the Winthrop Hall Clock Tower, and the landscape between is worth photographing. There are three virtual reality globe photos now - two are for the approaches and one is taken from the front of the Gallery.

Always enjoy visiting this gallery. Currently, 'Being Tiwi' exhibition on show is a fabulous collection of an important group of indigenous artists. This gallery continues to try bring together art that is not only interesting, important but often pushes the boundaries.

The Flora exhibition and Gallery talk on Emotion and imaging of nature was a delightful and provacative event. The presenter was well prepared skilfully responsive to Q&A.

Nice gallery with wonderful exbitions, love to go there again.

Great gallery on the grounds of Uni of Western Australia with some outstanding exhibitions.

Love going to this art gallery to see the exhibits and to view the items on sale made by W.A artists. The friendly greeting, bookshop and lounge area adds to a relaxing experience. To top it all off walking outside down to the sunken garden and along pathways beside majestic buildings to find a bench seat under parkland trees makes the whole experience very rewarding.

A great space with a standing exhibition from the Berndt Museum that has an unparalleled collection of indigenous artefacts. Followed by a walk in the University gardens, LWG is a most uplifting excursion.

A modern art gallery in a University setting.I was part of a Career Mentorlink panel and the setting was amazing.I highly recommend a visit.

The art was wonderful in paricular the aborignal art. Beautifully housed.The photography was another matter.The pictorial history was interesting but the photography was quite ordinary.The rest of the photography had very little to recommend it.Suspect a little nepotism involved because very little talent displayed in particular the series of photos on the back wall. Head shaking bad!
